The Glengallan Rose

The earliest photographs showing a white rose in situ date from 1923 when the Gillespie family was in residence at Glengallan. The sturdy white rose that still, in 1993, clambered over the iron column to the south of the front steps, was removed for propagation and launched during 2004 as The Glengallan Rose. Identified as lamarque, it has been re-established on the verandah columns and on a trellis to the south-east of the Heritage Centre.

Glengallan roses from ongoing propagations may be ordered/purchased at the Heritage Centre.
