More About Volunteering

Volunteering is work which:

  • provides a service to the community;
  • is of benefit to Glengallan;
  • is done of one's own free will;
  • is done without monetary reward.

It is an expression of mutual commitment

Philosophy
Volunteering at Glengallan Homestead & Heritage Centre provides a means
through which individuals can actively participate actively in furthering

the wider community.

All volunteers are required to attend an orientation. After that there will
be:

  • On the spot training: with a staff member or another volunteer;
  • Ongoing training: As opportunities and needs are recognised, there
    will be regular training on a wide range of subjects.
  • Volunteers working with the Public: Specialist training will be conducted
    on presentation skills.
